Nuad Boran / Traditional Thai Yoga
Nuad boran is a form of body+energy work that incorporates acupressure, joint mobilization, and gentle stretching to temporarily ease tension and stagnant energy. Together, these actions result in a meditative flow between giver and receiver - which will leave you feeling more balanced, nourished and refreshed. This practice can be particularly helpful for headaches, digestive issues, stress & anxiety, and previous soft tissue injuries. Thai Yoga Therapy, practiced on a mat and in comfortable clothing, is often (jokingly) described as having someone do yoga for you.
During these sessions we will discuss your specific condition, goals, and whether you're looking for help for the long term and what that might look like. Sessions take place on a mat on the floor for the combination of gentle stretching, joint mobilization, rocking, and application of pressure via palms, thumbs, elbows, knees, and feet along the body's energy meridians.
From a neuroscience perspective, my goal is to create the conditions to help you down regulate your nervous system. When your system feels 'safe', your body is in a better place to self-organize and heal.
Please wear loose comfortable clothing that allows more range of motion - similar to what you would wear to a yoga class. A 90-120 minute session is recommended to receive the full attention needed for the entire body, with a minimum of 60 minutes.
Luk Pra Kob / Thai Yoga Therapy with Hot Herbal Compress
is a luxurious add-on to a traditional 90min or 2 hour session. The handmade herbal compresses are steamed and applied directly to the body. Rhiannon makes these compresses herself with herbs sourced from a number of vendors to make them specific to a traditional Thai recipe that includes: Prai (cassumunar ginger), lemongrass, kaffir lime, turmeric, tamarind leaf, pandan leaf, camphor, and sea salt. Many find the aroma to be relaxing, but the Thai herbs are also ideal for stimulating the internal organs, alleviating stiff or sore muscles, arthritis, migraines, as well as cleansing and healing the skin. The herbs in the compress possess properties that are anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, astringent, and antioxidant. Please wear loose dark clothing as some of the herbs (such as turmeric) stain fabric very easily.
Herbal compresses are a $30 add-on. They are only available for 90min or 2 hour sessions.
Private sessions make wonderful gifts! Gift certificates are available - contact me for more information.

If it’s your first session, it's highly recommended you book a session at least 90 min to be sure to get the best session possible. These 90 min allow me to have a thorough intake and get to know you. In Thailand, a traditional Thai massage is 2 hours.

There is a 24 hour cancellation policy for all services. Please send an email at least 24 hours in advance to cancel your session without a cancellation fee. Thank you for understanding.
